CrowdStrike Racing to Follow Top-5 Result in Virginia with Victoria Day Speedfest in Canada
Sunnyvale, Calif. (May 15, 2018) ― From May 18 to 20, CrowdStrike Racing will be competing in the next Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) GTS races, which are being held at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario. George Kurtz, CEO and co-founder of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, will compete against a field of sportscars in the GMG Racing (Global Motorsports Group)-prepared No. 04 Audi R8 LMS GT4. Last year, Kurtz took back-to-back podiums as well as a victory at CTMP and looks to continue his success this season.
The Victoria Day Speedfest at CTMP is a Canadian salute to North American motorsports at a track that’s favored by many drivers for its high speeds and challenging technical configuration. PWC events host a large field of luxury performance cars and drivers from across the globe, allowing for the best in each class to display their talents for the crowd. In addition to its brand gracing the entire livery of the No. 04 Audi, CrowdStrike’s standing as the Official Cybersecurity Provider of the Pirelli World Challenge will earn the fast-growing company additional international exposure during this motorsports event.
After his last race with SprintX co-driver Colin Braun in Virginia, which landed the duo in a top-5 position after a close battle at the front of the field, defending GTSA-class champion Kurtz is ready to see his name back at the top of the points. Steady improvements with the Audi in each race have yielded better results after each outing.
“I’ve enjoyed great success at CTMP, and hope to replicate those results with the Audi R8,” remarked Kurtz. “After every race, I continue to learn more about the Audi, and the crew at GMG has done a great job preparing the car. I feel confident that we have a good setup for Canada, one of the most exciting tracks of the PWC season.”
Kurtz will qualify on May 19th at 10:40 a.m. EST, followed by Round 3 at 4:10 and Round 4 at 10:05 the following morning.
