Kurtz, Braun To Take On Lime Rock SprintX Races with CrowdStrike Audi

Sunnyvale, Calif. (May 22, 2018) — The CEO and co-founder of CrowdStrike, George Kurtz, is preparing to take on the Lime Rock Park racetrack from May 25 to 28 with the No. 04 CrowdStrike/GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4. He and co-driver Colin Braun will race in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) SprintX class at the Connecticut road course with a car prepared by GMG Racing (Global Motorsports Group), the team that supported Kurtz’ successful bid for GTSA-class season victory in 2017. Both of the No. 04’s races will be held on Monday the 28th.

Lime Rock Park is known as one of the most technically-challenging tracks in North America. This 1.5-mile, 7-turn track will require great skill from the Kurtz/Braun matchup. Their chemistry in this season’s SprintX races, in which each driver competes for one half of the 60-minute race with a mandatory driver change midway through, has been apparent from the start. The No. 04 Audi has seen its share of class-leading lap times in its bid for victory this year, and the two drivers aim to fulfill their potential during the rest of the season’s races.

“Last year, I came close to a podium finish at Lime Rock,” said Kurtz. “This year, I’ll have Colin as my co-driver which is a big asset for the No. 04 car. I know we can lay down some fast lap times, so it’s just a matter of working with the team to employ a smart strategy for this track.”

Braun last raced with Kurtz in the SprintX events at Virginia International Raceway, and has plenty of experience at Lime Rock.

“I cannot wait for the next SprintX rounds with the CrowdStrike machine and with George,” Braun said. “We had a really good second race in Virginia, where George was mixing it up with the front-runners, so we have a lot of momentum from VIR and our top-5 finish. I have had a lot of success at Lime Rock and enjoy racing there quite a bit, so I know it will be a fun weekend to put on on a great show for CrowdStrike!”

A group of guests from CrowdStrike will take part in the Grand Prix of Lime Rock festivities from trackside. The mix of business and racing, both on and off the track, is a valuable component in CrowdStrike’s corporate relationship-building program. Kurtz believes in the importance of a strong team both in racing and internally at CrowdStrike, and inviting his guests to experience the dynamics of racing first-hand establishes a long-lasting foundation for sound partnerships.

Qualifying for the GTS-X class starts at 2:25 p.m. EST on May 26. Watch the two one-hour races on Monday the 28th, one at 9:55 a.m. and one at 2:25 p.m, online at world-challenge.com.
