Colin Braun
For more than 25 years Colin Braun has been slicing and dicing his way around race tracks from the U.S. to Asia and many places in between. Colin’s passion for racing began at an early age growing up in a racing family in his hometown of Ovalo, Texas. From the first time he commanded the wheel of a go-kart with his Father’s coaching, it was clear Colin’s future would involve anything with four tires and a motor. In 2018 Colin’s on-track prowess was exemplified across three series: IMSA with Jon Bennett and CORE autosport (Prototype Class); Pirelli World Challenge with George Kurtz and CrowdStrike Racing (Sprint X GTS Class); and with Naj Husain in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Against a field stacked with factory-backed teams, Colin helped lead the privateer team of CORE autosport to a second-place finish in the Prototype Championship. He also scored two poles, and two overall race wins at Mosport and Road America in addition to five overall podium finishes. Another banner year in Colin’s young, but storied, career. Colin’s Sports Car career is a decorated one that includes wins at the famed Rolex 24, 12 Hours of Sebring, and Six Hours of Watkins Glen events, along with numerous poles, podium finishes and championships. With a nod to his former NASCAR days, he’s credited with turning the fastest lap around the Daytona International Speedway oval at 222.971mph in the Ford Ecoboost-powered Daytona Prototype machine with Michael Shank Racing. Hand-picked by Ford, Colin’s 40.364-second lap broke Bill Elliott’s previous record carving out another career milestone. While impressive, this wasn’t the first time Colin left his mark in the racing history books. At just 16 Colin made his road racing debut at one of sports car racing’s crown jewels, the Rolex 24 Hour race in Daytona. The following year he became the youngest driver to race in the top-tier Prototype class at just 17. And in 2006 Colin was the youngest driver ever to place on the podium at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans finishing second. His ascent was remarkable and catching the attention of top teams and manufacturers. Prior to returning to Sports Car racing full-time, the standout made the move to oval racing when NASCAR’s top team, Roush Fenway Racing, and Ford came calling in 2007. Competing in NASCAR’s Truck and Nationwide Series’ Colin accrued wins, poles and Rookie-of-the-Year honors. While he has achieved so much, Colin’s career is just beginning. He’s a fan favorite and has earned the respect of teams, sponsors and his competitors on and off track and is a leader in every sense of the word. His commitment to success and quality of personal character is second-to-none and that’s why corporate partners like 3M, Ford, Con-way, Pennzoil, Kraft, Coke, Michelin, and Continental Tire have chose Colin to represent their brands. His career is filled with firsts, but Colin isn’t done yet. He continues to excel and as he enters the 2019 racing season, his mission remains the same — to win races and deliver result to his corporate partners.
